LCT: South Pacific (Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and Theatre World Awards). New York City Opera: Belcore in L'Elisir d'Amore, Count Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro, Escamillo in Carmen. U.S. and international operatic credits include Le Nozze di Figaro, Boston Lyric Opera; Count Des Grieux in Le Portrait de Manon, Teatro Liceu, Barcelona; Marcello in La Bohème, Theatre National de Bordeaux; his European debut as Onegin in Eugene Onegin, Opera Marseille; and The Merry Widow, also at Opera Marseille. Upcoming engagements include Carmen, Opera Toulouse; Così fan Tutte, Opera Paris Garnier. A native of Brazil, Mr. Szot is the winner of that country's 2000 Premio Carlos Gomes Award for Best Vocal Performance and most recently made his NY concert debut in Lincoln Center's American Songbook Series. Next season, he will make his debut with the Metropolitan Opera in their new production of Shostakovich's The Nose.
