Over the next 2 weeks, we will be highlighting the FLEX actresses who make up the “Lady Train” team’s starting lineup. Check back for more Q&As with members of the cast!

Name: Brittany Bellizeare
Role in FLEX: April Jenkins

Basketball position on the team: Shooting Guard
What do you have in common with your character?: We weren’t the same position when I played, but I was the same aggressively when playing ball like April is. I was pretty fast and quick because I also ran track in HS, so I always dove for the ball and stole the ball from the other team. Personality-wise, April is super compassionate, empathetic and direct. She wants everyone to be ok and wants folks to take responsibility and own up to their stuff… she’s always coming from a care-centered heart, and her and I have that in common.
What is your character’s “pump-up” song?: “Keep Ya Head Up” by Tupac

A personal memory from high school: As a HS senior and member of the Black Student Union (BSU), I got to play Dorothy in the musical The Wiz! It was the first time I had ever played the lead of a show, the second musical I had ever been in, and the second major play experience I had ever had and probably one of the reasons I pursued acting as a career.

3 adjectives to describe FLEX: Fun, Exciting, Compelling
Favorite 90s style: Customized name plated gold jewelry, especially the chunky earrings and necklaces
