Bobby Gould in Hell by David Mamet was presented as a double-bill with Shel Silverstein’s The Devil and Billy Markham in an evening titled OH, HELL. Billy Markham used rhymed street jive to tell the tale of a musician who loses a bet with the devil. Mamet’s Bobby Gould in Hell reincarnates the title character—first introduced in his The Disappearance of the Jews and then again in Speed-the-Plow.
